January and off to Argentina
Lago Strobel (Jurassic Lake) for the fifth time
It’s January 21st and off to Heathrow tonight for the 14 hour flight to Buenos Aires with five guests in search of the huge rainbows in this vast lake. Linking up with Lou Hegedus coming in from Colorado and then on down to El Calafate before driving to the lodge (Laguna Verde).
It may well be windy but the fish are superb and everyone will be hoping for the ultimate of a twenty plus.
I will be using the new Hardy Zephrus and with only a few trial casts so far I know that this tool will do the job in those rough conditions and will also cope with the power of the trout.
After the week on Strobel I am having a few days with Lou to fish browns and brooks in small streams in southern Patagonia and then it’s back home in early February and hoping that we will be coming into spring with our trout fishing soon to kick off.
Busy year coming with lots to arrange. Happily my 27th consecutive trip to Alaska in July is now fully booked and already looking to 2017 but do please check in with me for other vacancies or locations for this summer as I do genuinely know Alaska really well.
