It’s all go.
Coming to the end of February and it’s been a really cold month. Starting work at Dever Springs has meant being bundled up in layers each day and the next few days look real testing but I’m learning the ropes and enjoying looking after the stock as well as meeting anglers, many of whom are already friends. Some lovely people have followed me over from Albury and love the fishing here.
I’m still trying to get the old shop cleared and it’s staggering how much accumulates over the years. All sorts of things will have to go on e bay soon.
Also just about finished moving home and Sue is setting up the new place to her likings.
Away in deepest Sussex yesterday doing a teaching day for Sussex Piscatorial Society and it was a really good day. 20 people listened in and I loved seeing their fishery. What a gem of a club. Hoping that the weather will allow us to head off next Sunday to have a week on the mighty Tweed trying to catch a springer. We will be calling in to see friends at Hardy too and make sure my commitment to them is going OK. Have to say that doing casting demo’s with the Wraith models does make it all seem a bit easy, they are an amazing rod.
Fishy wise I have only managed the one outing and that to Hawkridge reservoir with Wessex water to catch the new Sparctic trout. That’s one very pretty fish (brook x char) and I have had some hot smoked to then make a pate from them. Will report back on that.
