British Columbia: Bell II Lodge

Bell II is on the Bell Irving river in northern B C and I went there in 2004. It's a magnificent location, first class services and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The lodge offers heli fly outs to other rivers which very rarely see anglers and you can realistically expect to average one to two fish a day with some which can well be over 20lbs.

You will earn the fish but steelhead are the ultimate fly fishers trophy. I found that spey casting was definitely a necessity and the rivers are a comfortable size without being frightening monsters.
You can also catch some silver salmon and a type of char called bull trout.

This is a very comfortable and scenically superb place to visit and I very much want to go back.

Look at my feature in December 2005 issue of Trout Fisherman magazine.
